Shining a spotlight on performing arts.

CPH STAGE is an annual theater festival in Copenhagen. Over 10 days the festival celebrates the performing arts nationally and internationally, enabling audiences to experience performances across the city alongside concerts, talks and parties.

Studio C created the updated brand identity for CPH STAGE. Activated by a vivid spotlight motif, the identity references the world of theater and utilises the festival’s signature red in a new way. Much like a spotlight follows a performer on stage, CPH STAGE highlights trends and break-out performances in the theater scene as well as topical themes in society.

A new, contemporary condensed typeface was selected, referring back to classic theater posters. The performing arts happen in real time, with productions brought to life in real-time. In the same way, the typography puts on show across every touchpoint with a modern, playful attitude.

Like performances in the theater, CPH STAGE’s identity is dynamic and ever-changing, shapeshifting and responding to the stories and performers it platforms.
