For more than 40 years, DDC - Danish Design Center has held an iconic position at the heart of a proud design nation.

In 2021, with a new business strategy in place, DCC wanted to demonstrate the impact of design for sustainable growth and make it completely clear what they stand for and what they offer.

We collaborated closely with the management, project team, and employee stakeholders to develop a new brand strategy, identity design and website. The result was a brand experience centred around the promise of ’building capacity for innovation and sustainable growth by design’.

Inspired by iconic publisher brands, DDC’s new identity design present them as a curator with a strong mandate. A clear, continuous visual frame acts as a container for all their original and experimental content creating space to play with diverse expressions in graphics, motion, illustrations, and more.

A new logomark gives DDC a strong and visible (co)ownership of all their projects and acts as a quality stamp signifying DDC’s credibility and public mandate.

We transformed their website from a digital business card to a learning platform with the ambition to enable visitors to do something they couldn’t before. The website became a learning resource helping companies and organizations to use design to focus their innovation efforts on creating maximum impact for themselves and society – also when DDC is not by their side.

With the new brand and website in place, DDC now has the tools to give companies and organizations the capacity to solve tomorrow’s challenges and pursue new opportunities for sustainable growth - by design.

"With our new brand strategy and visual identity, we have taken on a position and an expression matching our ambitions perfectly. We feel that we now step into character as who we are as an organisation. We can already see the results in significantly increased traffic on our digital channels, and we see an even greater interest from our stakeholders in our work. Finally, and just as importantly, colleagues are thrilled and proud of our new expression. It is invaluable."

Christian Bason, CEO, DDC - Danish Design Center.
